Planter Carving & Inlay - Wednesday 6/18
Wednesday, June 18th, 6pm - 8pm
Instructor: Malaika Tolford
In this workshop, you’ll select a pre-made, unfired red earthenware planter to decorate with your own unique designs. The planter will be coated with wax, which you’ll carve through, exposing the raw clay underneath.
Once your design is complete, you’ll inlay the carved lines with colored slips and glazes. When the planter is fired, the wax will burn away revealing a rich red clay surface and your fabulous designs. Fully functional and ready to plant!
Your fired planter will be ready for pickup within 2–3 weeks.
No prior clay or carving experience is necessary! Whether you want to create intricate details or keep it simple, your results will look fantastic.
